Wakefied web design agency, Northern Media has recently secured a prestigious order to build a new website for Wakefield NHS.
The sole purpose of the website is to provide information, advice and direction to Clinical Commissioning Groups and other health and social care commissioners to help them commission services that are more equitable, accessible and inclusive for all residents of Wakefield district.
The website, called the ‘commissioning toolkit on vulnerability’ will be used by health and social care organisations/staff such as CCGs, Council, voluntary sector that are responsible for and/or involved in the planning, procuring, redesigning and evaluation of health and social care services.
As part of the brief, Wakefield NHS identified that the success of the website was very much dependent upon information being presented in an accessible manner, as this is a legal requirement. The website must conform to accessibility standards, as a minimum WGAC 1.0 level ‘A’ and work on all modern browsers, including Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer 7+.
The website will delivered with full content management functionality, which has been built bespoke. This will provide key NHS personnel with access to the site and the ability to update any information quickly.
The website is expected to go live towards the end of May, with training on the content managed system to be arranged immediately after launch.
