The NM team get festive for charity!

Friday 12th December was National Christmas Jumper Day, and keen to join in raising money for charity, Northern Media donned their best festive jumpers for the day.

The team raised £100 and donated £50 each to two local charities, Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice and The Real Junk Food Project.

The Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice in Huddersfield cares for families who have a child with a life shortening condition. This year the charity are caring for more families than ever before, supporting families by giving them a break by taking the role of carer in the home, providing hydrotherapy or music therapy, and supporting parents, brothers and sisters.

The Real Junk Food Project in Leeds provides meals made from waste food from landfill at the Pay As You Feel (PAYF) Cafe. What is so unique and innovative about this charity is that customers at the café pay how much they think their meal is worth and those who can’t afford to buy meals can volunteer at the cafe to earn meals.

Chris Elliot, Managing Director of Northern Media said, “We chose to support these two local charities as part of our commitment to supporting the local community and admire the work that they do, inspiring young people to take part in helping others.”
