At Northern Media, we have a vast amount of experience and expertise in digital marketing and how it can have on a business. However, when it comes to IT and the technical wizardry that powers our work, we would admittedly much rather turn to a specialist in that field.
We recently recognised that our IT hardware and software needed an overhaul, so we contacted Eitex, our local Yorkshire-based IT support partner. We have been working with Eitex for about 5 years, so we knew they would help us improve our IT infrastructure.
Brand New Email for Sharper Communications
Communication is at the heart of everything we do, and we like it when IT systems don’t stop us from communicating. What we needed was an up to date, synchronised way of staying in touch with clients and staff that also made our files and data easily accessible.
Like any modern business, we’re not necessarily desk-bound all the time and we can’t afford to be out of touch just because we’re on the move or conducting meetings at a client’s premises. It’s reassuring to have information at your fingertips when you’re chatting with clients, whether it’ be checking back on meeting discussions or analysing the latest social media reports.
Scalability – A Key to Company Growth
We find Office 365 gives us everything we need. All our files and data are synchronised and up to date, whether we’re collaborating on a design project or putting together a social media plan. With communication being at the heart of what we do, it’s vital the software that backs our company is accessible to everyone on the team.
We like the scalability of Office 365. The work we do means we need to be reactive and responsive to any client demands. This might be an urgent client need, or we need to adapt to a technology or platform change. It’s good to know the people behind the system your software operates on has its finger on the pulse. With Office 365 we can upscale resources when they’re needed without any fuss or disruption.
Up to Date and Future Proof
With so much information flowing between staff and customers, we’ve come to rely on the anti-malware, anti-spam filtering and data loss prevention we automatically get with Exchange Online. It’s also nice knowing we’re on the latest software version without having to monitor innovations in IT then figure out what we need to do to stay current.
But it goes further than email. We took the decision to move away from maintaining our own file servers, taking advantage of SharePoint’s sharing and collaboration capabilities. This not only makes for a more efficient workflow, it reduces maintenance costs.
No business can afford to lag with the tech that drives their everyday operations. For a digital marketing agency, it’s vital we’re on the ball all the time, and we can only maintain that standard when our IT is reliable, quick and easy to manage. With the way we do things now, it’s exactly that.
