On a bright morning at the start of September, NM spent the day filming for a new E-learning website for the Mid Yorkshire NHS.
The film tells the story of John and Jo… John has learning disabilities and Jo is his Care Worker.
Filming was split over several locations across Wakefield, with the final scenes being shot at Pinderfields Hospital.
The film is designed to promote best practice for care workers when they are dealing with patients who have a learning disability.
The film portrays how Jo takes care of John, and how she supports him on a day to day basis including getting him ready, going on excursions with him and taking him to doctor appointments. Part of the shoot was filmed in John’s home, along with Pindefields Hospital where a doctor’s surgery and an ultrasound scan was staged.
The team had a lot of fun making the film which will be featured on an e-learning website that is currently being developed by Northern Media.
The e-learning site will include a series of modules related to caring for people with learning disabilities, with a series of multiple choice tests at the end of each module.
Jonathan Scott, Sales Director at Northern Media, said: “We have really enjoyed working with the NHS for the second time on such an important subject. Creating an e-learning portal has been an exciting project to be involved in and we are proud to be forming strong relationships with the health sector in Wakefield.
“We are already in talks regarding future developments and look forward to working with the NHS in the future and supporting the local community”.
