Northern Media were recently commissioned to create some video work for the Wakefield Council.
The Council called upon Northern Media’s expertise to create two videos to coincide with the Wakefield District Annual Public Health Report 2017. The report will highlight how much the Council and community have devoted to mental health services and the videos are tasked with raising awareness of the support that is available to sufferers of mental health issues.
Mental health is an extremely pressing issue and this project is something that the team at Northern Media is proud to be a part of. We are excited to have been given the chance to give back to the local community and support this important cause.
The first video outlined the positive outcomes that have been achieved by local services and used vox pops of local residents openly talking about the importance of receiving support. The second video was focused on promoting the idea that maintaining your mental health is for everyone and that we all go through bad times.
We feel that raising awareness of the widespread issue and talking openly about common but often-stigmatic issues is the best approach to solving the problem. This is why the Wakefield Council were keen to have the theme of #ItsNotUnusual central to the campaign.
Andrew Furber, Director of Public Health, Wakefield Council said:
“We are delighted with the films produced by Northern Media. They capture the feelings of such an emotive subject like mental health and well-being. Northern Media were great from start to finish… From coming up with the ideas and storyboard through to the filming and final editing. The report is due to be published in December and Northern Media has comfortably met the deadline so we can use the videos across our digital marketing. Northern Media has been very easy to work with and I look forward to them supporting us on other future projects.”
