With Northern Media being a leading digital marketing company in the Wakefield area, we feel it is necessary to keep up to date with the latest local news and current affairs.
It has recently been reported that Wakefield may be set to begin some huge developments in the city.
A planning application for the redevelopment of Rutland Mills has been submitted, which comes more than a year after Wakefield Council agreed to sell the site. The buyers, City and Provincial Properties Limited, are expected to transform the waterfront complex into a centre for partnerships in music, film, television design, and media.
The development will become an area of creativity for Wakefield as it will be home to TileYard North, an extension of London’s creative hub Tileyard studio, which is the base for musicians including Tinchy Stryder, Mark Ronson and Chase & Status.
The whole complex will include a hotel, shops, food and drink outlets, offices and there is even a proposed riverside pier for open-air events to be constructed. The new developments will no doubt benefit the local people and local businesses.
Northern Media’s Managing Director, Chris Elliott said:
“It is encouraging to see the local creative community booming as it’s something that Northern Media fully supports. Wakefield is a vibrant place to work and these developments will be valuable to the local community. It shows that there are exciting times ahead for the city and it is something we look forward to seeing develop”.
