Everyone here at Northern Media was delighted to welcome Sam Omar to the team at the beginning of April as our latest placement student from the University of Huddersfield.
Sam is an enthusiastic student currently in his final year of university and has experience in journalistic writing as well as social media and is particularly keen on improving his knowledge of digital marketing.
Sam will be with us for a month and will be working on a number of different projects, writing news and other content for our clients.
“After my first couple of weeks at Northern Media, I have felt hugely welcomed by the team and have really enjoyed the work I’ve done so far,” commented Sam. “I’m not taking this opportunity for granted and am extremely eager to make the most of my time, develop my skills and gain valuable experience. Even though I’m only here for a month the welcome I’ve gotten has been fantastic and I have been made to feel like part of the team, something I am really thankful to everybody for.”
Chris Elliott, our Managing Director, added: “We have developed a very good partnership with the Journalism faculty at Huddersfield University over the last 3 years. As well as recruiting several Graduates, we have also provided valuable work placement positions to a number of final year students and Sam is the most recent of those placements. Sam settled into Northern Media quickly and, in a short space of time, he has made a valuable contribution to the business by supporting the Marketing Executives with article writing and social media based work. His quality of writing, combined with his attention to detail and ability to understand our clients, made him the perfect candidate for the role.”
