Josh Hartshorne, our Web Developer and Courtney West, our Digital Marketing Apprentice have both celebrated anniversaries at Northern Media recently. Josh has now been with the company for three years, and Courtney has just had her first Northern Media anniversary!
To mark the occasion, we asked them both a few questions about how they’ve found being part of the team.
Q. Can you name something you’ve found you enjoy more than you thought you would working at NM?
C: I enjoy the responsibility I have now, more than I thought I would e.g: with social media, taking control of client accounts myself and producing content and interacting. I was originally daunted by the thought however have found myself enjoying it and taking pride in it.
J: I don’t think there was necessarily anything I thought I wouldn’t enjoy when I joined, so I don’t think I can really answer this one! HTML newsletters may be one, although I’m still not too keen on those now!
Q: Everyone seems to really love the team atmosphere here at NM, but what do you think makes it so special?
C: I think that us all being similar in ages/young people makes the team so special – we can all related to each other and share jokes and banter.
J: I think the fact that the team gets along is largely down to everyone having a similar sense of humour, and the fact that none of us take ourselves too seriously and can take a joke or two!
Q: If you could request one new addition to the office, what would it be?
C: OFFICE DOG!
J: It’s tempting to say an office dog, however I think little work may get done if that were to happen. Maybe an Xbox / PS4 with FIFA!?
Q: What’s your favourite memory of NM since you started working here?
C: My favourite memory since working at Northern Media is probably Ewan’s face when he spilt water on his laptop and it broke…priceless!
J: I think many of my favourite memories have occurred on staff night’s out! However my favourite in-office memory is probably of Ewan, and his illustrious journey to winning an iPad…
Q: What is your favourite part of the job?
C: My favourite part of the job is Social Media and spending time building client accounts through interactions and content posting.
J: I think the favourite part of my job is being able to work with a really good team, whilst being able to develop stuff for the Web – something I’m passionate about.
