Northern Media’s Business Development Manager, Rachel Collins, has set herself an incredible challenge this summer all in aid of Wakefield Hospice.
Rachel is going above and beyond to raise money for the local charity by completing a series of triathlons and cycles over the next few months. Having already completed the Tadcaster Triathlon earlier this month and the Driffield Triathlon only a week later, she still has two more events to complete throughout June.
Speaking about the mammoth feat, Rachel said:
“Whilst this is a fun challenge, I’m doing it to raise awareness for Wakefield Hospice and all the work they do for patients and particularly in Memory of a friend Maggie Blamires- Vallance who sadly passed away in March.”
Wakefield Hospice is specialist palliative care unit committed to providing the highest level of symptom management and care for people who have advanced active, progressive and life threatening illnesses. Rachel’s fundraising attempt follows on from fellow Northern Media colleague Helen’s previous work with the charity through her sponsored skydive this spring.
Rachel’s next challenge is a gruelling 61KM Yorkshire Dales Cycles on the 4th June with the final triathlon challenge on 28th June in Scisset, Huddersfield. I’m sure everyone will join the team in congratulating Rachel for all that she has achieved and wishing her well for the final two events.
