There were plenty of smiles at the Wrenthorpe Rangers Football Club Trophy Day on Saturday 21st June 2014 as children from all ages were rewarded for all of their hard work and effort over the last 9 months.
Wrenthorpe Rangers FC was formed in 1997 by a few local parents who thought that their children should have the opportunity to play football within their own village and the club have gone from strength to strength ever since.
Northern Media sponsored the Under 8s during the 2013/14 season and the season proved to be successful with the team losing only 1 game in the league and reaching the Champions League semi-final of the Garforth Junior Football League.
“Wrenthorpe Rangers FC are a well-respected organisation within the Wakefield community, who are passionate about nurturing young people. Clubs like Wrenthorpe Rangers are not just about sport, they are about having fun, getting exercise and developing friendships and you can’t put a price on that,” comments Chris Elliott, Managing Director at Northern Media.
The success of WRFC Under 8s even made the regional news in October 2013 when the Yorkshire Post was one of a number of newspapers that reported the remarkable goal scoring exploits of Sonny Kilkenny.
“Everyone at Northern Media are big football supporters and we have enjoyed watching the team playing really well this season.”
“We are proud to be a sponsor of Wrenthorpe Rangers FC and look forward to continuing to support the Under 8s during the 2014/15 season,” Chris Elliott says.
