SEO – New Google algorithm drives need for change

Northern Media are at the forefront of SEO and here are a few tips to keep your company at the very top of the Google rankings, even after the recent Penguin 2.0 Updates.

It is important to have a strong brand image that will lead to organic growth on Google sites. A solid brand also means Google are less likely to relate spam to your website and keep your site moving up the rankings.

Aligned with the brand, quality content remains of the highest importance. Making it fresh and innovative is crucial and regular updates are what Google basis success upon. Make sure your anchor text is freshly generated too and related to the page.

In addition to quality content, you also need good SEO links, so work hard to establish good SEO on your page, with the use of tags and titles. Build it up and make sure any links work correctly and show the related content.

Building good links is also very important for your page ranking. You need to find a few good quality links that show authority and knowledge in a given niche market rather than focusing on volume of links. In doing so, Google will view your website as an expert in its field.

As well as links, make sure you share, share, share, especially on social media. Sharing content is a great way of strengthening your online brand. Incorporate share buttons on your sites and actively seek for people to share the content they find.

Vitally important is to keep up to date with any developments within your industry or changes to legislation. Invariably, this will create opportunities for your business that you can exploit and take advantage of.
